so regardless of who's fault it is, he might be beat. I guess it really comes down to what the rental agreement was. But, like you, I don't know the laws on that. If it was his house, he could go after the electrician. As a renter I'd imagine he needs to go after the landlord, but again, I'd think the renter's agreement would be the determining factor there. Either way, I'm sure he will be taken care of. I wasn't trying to fight, just saying that I would much rather cause that damage to my stuff myself, then to have someone else do it for me. Even if it gets covered 100%, I would still feel better knowing I screwed up
